Every great book begins here.
The main task of our pre-press department is to ensure that the files provided by customers correspond to the necessary print standard, so that printers will be able to achieve the desired print result in the most efficient way.
The International Organisation for Standardisation (ISO) has defined some parameters for making high-quality offset print, called ISO 12647-2. This standard defines both how offset printing machines should behave and how proof prints and colour separation should be produced to achieve the best possible results. Livonia Print continually adjusts its printing processes so as to match closely the conditions defined in ISO 12647 wherever possible. Essentially, this means that when printing at our nominal values, the press performs at its very best with a high degree of predictability.
In the ISO specification, parameters are defined for various paper types. In order to achieve near perfect results on press, documents must be prepared correctly. Therefore, we supply three different guidelines for colour separation/CMYK conversion depending on the paper type to be used for printing.
