This year Livonia Print has won 5 awards from 25 in the Swedish Book Art Contest 2008.
Our winning book publishers are: Makadam Forlag in cooperation with the Riksbankens Jubileumsfond foundation, Bokforlaget Atlantis, Folke Dahlberg Sallskapet, MBM Forlag and Albert Bonniers Forlag. The jury used the following expressions to characterise our mutual work:
….an elegant book, qualitative to the tiniest detail… very beautiful double pages, fantastic foil stamping on the cover… outstanding printing work and materials… original details… effective foil stamping…a beautiful and different cookery book… charming, beautiful and esoteric…

The overall mission of Swedish Book Art Association is to encourage and inspire the book industry to improve the level of quality of book production. Since 1933 Swedish Book Art has annually selected 25 books produced in exemplary fashion to serve as models for emulation. The selection is based on the principle of appropriate and aesthetic adaptation of form to content from the standpoint of typography and printing technique. The jury of the Swedish Book Art consists of designers, publishers, photographers, printers and binders.
The Swedish Book Art 2008 exhibition is open to visitors at the Swedish Royal Library in Stockholm from 19 March to 27 August. The exhibition will then be shown at Gothenburg book fair, Centre Culturel Suedois and Bibliothèque Nordique in Paris and book fairs in Frankfurt and Leipzig.
